The first link I followed was titled “Valuing Women’s
Caregiving During and After the Coronavirus Crisis” it took me to the Center
for American Progress (https://www.americanprogress.org/issues/women/reports/2020/06/03/485855/valuing-womens-caregiving-coronavirus-crisis/
) I searched the issues section of this site and found that they touch base on
many topics. There are many issues in the world right now, and this website has
a dedicated section for each of them, such as courts, criminal justice, early
childhood, LGBTQ rights, poverty, race and ethnicity, women, and so much more.
The website that I have been following throughout this course (https://cscce.berkeley.edu/) has a
specific section for equity publications with current and some older
publications regarding equity. I gained insight into the issues and trends in
this field about the many resources available to everyone about these issues.

ReplyDeleteThank you for the post. The importance placed on female care-giving is most informative and beneficial. It is intriguing the ways in which the pandemic is effecting every aspect of ECE. Much like young children, I function most optimally when expectations are clear. It will be interesting to see what the future holds.

ReplyDeleteI think the topic that you discuss is very important information. It is unfair that during this pandemic parents are still faced with the uncertainty of school and daycare opening. For sure, if and when it does it will be a significant change of how thing will need to be done. For most parents, they are still battling working and getting quality childcare. In my daughter's situation, he job allowed her time off with partial pay as long the childcare center is closed. That way she is allowed to stay at home with her son and still get paid plus unemployment. I must admit that this pandemic has caused a lot of change but along with this change, some parents have been blessed to still be able to provide.
