Hello everyone,
I just wanted to thank everyone who has read my blog during this course and those that have left comments for me to read. Starting a blog was not an easy task for me, there were quite a few weeks where I was arguing with my computer trying to learn how to blog. This has definitely been a challenging journey, but I am glad to share it with all of you.
I want to share two blogs with you who I have been impressed with over the course and will be checking after this course ends. Cassandra, your Play with Purpose blog, has been a delight to read over this course. I especially like your title, because children do indeed play with a purpose; thank you for all your posts. Here is her blog link if anyone wants to check it out https://playwithpurpose.home.blog/ The second blog that I am continually checking is from Dorothy. Firstly thank you for my shout out from your blog, I am truly humbled that you mentioned me. Thank you for all your posts throughout this course; they have been inspiring and educational. You are definitely an inspiration through your postings, and it has been wonderful getting to know you during this course. Here is her blog link if you want to check her out https://dorothyavant.wixsite.com/website/post/personal-thanks-support

NAEYC Code of Ethics Ideals
I-1.10—To ensure that each child’s culture, language,
ethnicity, and family structure are recognized and
valued in the program
This first ideal is meaningful to me because, recently, I have realized how important it is to have a culturally diverse classroom. Children get so excited when they see pictures of people who look like them on the wall. Children from different cultures also enjoy playing with toys from other cultures and exploring them. I also found that children like to learn about other cultures, as well.
I-2.3—To welcome all family members and encourage them to participate in the program.
This ideal is meaningful to me because I am currently a parent at a daycare, and I love it when the teachers include us in the program. I think that this really helps connect home and school, it shows the child that we worked together to teach them.
I-3C.1—To promote safe and healthy working conditions and policies that foster mutual respect, cooperation, collaboration, competence, well-being, confidentiality, and self-esteem in staff members.
This ideal is meaningful to me because nobody wants to work in an unfriendly environment, having an excellent working environment is critical. Personally, I do not like staying at a job where the environment is toxic, it makes it difficult to go to work every day.
